Frequently Asked Questions

Where can I use natural stone pavers?

Bluestone and Light Grey Granite pavers are designed for outdoor areas such as pathways, courtyards, driveways, pool surrounds and general entertaining spaces. They are described as extremely durable, with non slip surfaces that withstand harsh Australian conditions, making them ideal for high use areas.

What sizes and thickness do Tuscan Path natural stone pavers come in?

The Bluestone Paver is available in three rectangular sizes - 400 x 400 mm, 600 x 400 mm and 800 x 400 mm - all at 20 mm thickness. The Light Grey Granite Paver is available in a 600 x 400 mm format, also at 20 mm thickness. These sizes suit a range of patterns, from simple straight lay to more contemporary layouts.

Do I need to seal natural stone pavers before installation?

Yes. It is strongly recommended that all Tuscan Path natural stone pavers are sealed with an appropriate paving sealer on the top, bottom and sides before installation, and again after they have been laid. Sealing reduces porosity and helps protect the stone from weathering and staining so your pavers remain durable and easier to maintain over time.

Are natural stone pavers suitable for pool areas?

Bluestone and Light Grey Granite pavers are well suited to pool surrounds and other wet areas thanks to their anti slip finishes. Bluestone Pavers have an R 11 slip rating, while Light Grey Granite Pavers feature a flamed surface with an R 12 slip rating for extra grip. It's important when sealing natural stone around pools, use a sealer recommended for the specific stone and pool environment.

How do I calculate how many natural stone pavers I need?

Start by measuring the length and width of your area to find the total square metres. Then select the paver size you plan to use and work out how many units are needed to cover that area. We have created a handy pavers calculator - you choose the paver size, enter your dimensions or total area, and it will estimate the number of pavers required. It is recommended to then add around 10 percent extra to allow for cuts, breakages and any future replacements.

How do I install Tuscan Path natural stone pavers?

Tuscan Path offers step by step how to guides for installing natural stone pavers on both sand and concrete bases. Typical steps include preparing a compacted base, spreading and levelling sand or mortar, laying pavers with small gaps for jointing, checking levels as you go and compacting the finished surface. The guides explain suitable base depths, spacing and compaction methods so you can achieve a professional result for pathways, courtyards and entertaining areas.

How do I care for and maintain natural stone pavers?

Once sealed and installed, natural stone pavers are easy to maintain. Regularly sweep to remove debris, hose down or gently pressure wash when needed, and address spills promptly to reduce the risk of staining. Over time, resealing may be required to maintain protection, especially in exposed or high traffic areas such as driveways and pool surrounds. With the right sealer and simple cleaning, Bluestone and Light Grey Granite pavers will keep their appearance and performance for many years.
